Counting Money and Giving Change

I am learning to recognise the value of NZ coins, to add totals and give change.

I can add up the coins but I couldn't give the change.  I need to practise more with money

A great try with Money Tiffany.  Giving change is a bit tricky.  Keep practising at home.

Predicting, Inferring and Exploring Vocabulary

I am learning to predict, make inferences and explore vocabulary.

I found it easier to predict and to infer but the explaining the meaning of the jokes was hard. Next time, we could ask each other and talk in our group to help us understand more.

A good effort with a tricky task created to challenge you as a fluent reader.  Next time you can definitely spend more time talking about the task and looking up the meaning of words you are unsure of.  Mrs Templeton 15.11.16

Kiwi Dog - Comprehension Questions

I have been learning to show my understanding of a text by answering questions about what I have read at Level 20.

It was a bit hard , the reading was bit easy and bit hard.  I don't know what enemies means.  I like doing this harder work.

I think working at this level will really challenge you Tiffany.  I like the way you tried to answer all the questions.  Enemies of the kiwi are dogs, stoats, rats etc. They may harm the kiwi.    Mrs Templeton.

Describing a Storm

I am learning to describe a storm using my senses.

To be successful, I will choose interesting words to describe what I can see, hear and feel during a storm.

Tiffany, I think you have chosen some great words to descibe what you can see, hear and feel.  I love the "horrid crack", I can tell you really didn't like the thunder!  Mrs Templeton

Visual Art: Geometric Shape Art

I have been learning to observe and compare the works of other artists and to create my own art work using geometric shapes

To be successful I needed to look at the works of Klee, Matisse and Kandinsky (right) and cut a range of shapes in different sizes and place them carefully to create my own masterpiece. (left)

Alliterated Sentences

Alliteration

I am learning to write alliterated sentences.

Tiffany took a tiny tea to the toilet.

"First I thought of all the words that start with 't' sound, then I wrote a sentence with the words. It was a little tricky, but it was fun."
